Hospitality, Barista and Food Services

In 2020, New Directions College was awarded a Skills Capital grant from the Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, to create a state of the art training kitchen for the Hospitality, Barista and Food Services industry. Despite the pandemic, we were able to continue with the build and works were completed in September 2020.

In March 2022, together with Ways into Work, New Directions College were successful in being awarded £130,000 in capital funding under the Getting Building Fund from the Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership.   As a result of this funding we are now offering a range of skills development programmes,  that are designed to enhance the skills, knowledge and behaviours of adults with special educational needs and disabilities and begin to prepare them for moving on to employment.

Supported Learning for Employment in Hospitality

The primary purpose of these ten-week qualifications is to enable learners to operate independently and effectively in life, learning and work. They are not designed to lead to a specific job role but to support personal progress and possibly help learners to enter employment. All sessions will take place in our state of the art kitchen at New Directions College South. Parking is available.
