ESOL Skills for Life courses support speakers of other languages based within the UK to develop their English language skills for work, further learning or everyday life. Working towards fully accredited qualifications, they are intended for anyone based in the UK needing to improve their understanding and use of written or spoken English. This might be to help get on at work (or get a job), prepare for further study, access public services, or just to function more effectively in an English-speaking environment.

We offer courses at a range of levels, from those with very basic English language skills, to those who are more advanced. Prior to starting, we will conduct an assessment to determine the level you are working at and identify the best course and level for you. We offer Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening modules.

We are able to offer ESOL courses at a range of venues across Reading. Some of our venues have childcare facilities which you may be eligible to access. Due to the large volume of classes on offer, and the requirement for you to have an assessment before you enrol, we recommend that you use our website to book an assessment or apply directly. Please state that you would like to do an ESOL course, but you dont know the date or session time yet.

Starting: September, November, January and at various points throughout the academic year.

Course fee: Fees will vary according to your personal circumstances and course you are applying for. Please speak to us at your assessment and we will provide you with advice and guidance in relation to fees.
