An apprenticeship is a job and a full-time work-based learning programme that combines accredited learning with paid work. It gives you the opportunity to study towards a nationally recognised qualification, whilst gaining real work experience. By the end of the programme you will have acquired the skills, knowledge and experiences, as well as a relevant qualification, to perform a skilled role.
Anyone over the age of 16 can do an apprenticeship and there is no upper age limit. In order for you to access an apprenticeship, you must first secure the apprenticeship job role via normal recruitment channels. New Directions College can then work with you and your employer to match the required accredited training and development to meet your needs.

There are four levels of Apprenticeship:
New Directions College currently deliver Apprenticeship standards from Intermediate level through to Higher levels in the following occupations:
- L2 Early Years Practitioner
- L3 Public Service Operational Delivery Officer
- L3 Team Leader/Supervisor
- L3 Business Administration
- L3 Customer Service Practitioner
- L3 Early Years Educator
- L5 Operations or Department Manager
