Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is sponsored by an employer and it combines accredited learning with paid work. To enrol on an apprenticeship you must be in relevant employment before starting the apprenticeship. By the end of an apprenticeship programme you will have acquired the skills, knowledge and experiences, as well as a relevant qualification, to perform a skilled role within your workplace.
Anyone over the age of 16 years, who is in paid employment, can do an apprenticeship and there is no upper age limit. Employed adults can study an apprenticeship programme with the support of their employer.
In order for you to access an apprenticeship, you must first secure the apprenticeship job role via normal recruitment channels. New Directions College can then work with you and your employer to match the required accredited training and development to meet your needs.

New Directions College currently deliver Apprenticeship standards from Intermediate level through to Higher levels in the following occupations:
- L2 Early Years Practitioner
- L3 Early Years Educator
- L3 Teaching Assistant
- L3 Public Service Operational Delivery Officer
- L3 Business Administration
- L5 Operations or Department Manager
