To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re sharing the story of Siân, one of our Level 5 Leadership and Management apprentices, who recently achieved Distinction in her apprenticeship.
Already working as a Team Leader, she was keen to build her management skills and spoke to her line manager about training options. After exploring different routes with HR, the organisation chose to invest in a leadership apprenticeship.
Although she initially applied for Level 3, discussions about her experience and previous study led to the recommendation to take on the Level 5 qualification instead.
Throughout the programme, she felt consistently supported by her tutors. Even when there were changes within the tutoring team, the encouragement and continuity remained strong, something that made a real difference to her experience.
The apprenticeship has had a lasting impact. By applying leadership theories and reflective practice in her day-to-day role, Siân has grown in confidence both personally and professionally. Having a recognised qualification alongside her experience has also made it easier to showcase her leadership skills and look ahead to future opportunities.
“I have embedded a number of theories and practices within my day-to-day role, completing the apprenticeship gave me a real opportunity for personal development and I developed my reflective practice methods which has developed my confidence in my personal and working life.
I feel more confident in showcasing my leadership and management skills, especially as I know have recognised qualifications to back up my work experience.”
This National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to celebrate apprentices who continue to learn, grow and lead within their organisations.
