New Directions College Recognition Award Scheme

We love to recognise and celebrate the achievements and success and contribution and impact of our learners, staff, volunteers, partners and subcontractors. At New Directions College we run a recognition award scheme that is designed to do just that! Each month, individuals can be nominated to be recognised under a range of categories. When an individual is nominated and is awarded a recognition certificate, they are also automatically invited to an annual awards ceremony that is held in July that will highlight an overall and outstanding winner for each category.

Nominating a learner for a recognition award is easy:

 

 

You can nominate a learner under one of the following categories:

Demonstrating independence in learning

This award celebrates learners who show the ability to make informed, well-reasoned decisions while respecting and understanding that others may hold different beliefs and attitudes. These learners exemplify independence, thoughtfulness, and inclusivity in their approach to learning.

Outstanding participation in learning

This award recognizes learners who demonstrate exceptional engagement with issues that impact themselves and those around them. They actively contribute to the life of the College, workplace, or wider community by taking responsible actions that bring meaningful improvements for others as well as themselves. These learners embody dedication, responsibility, and a commitment to making a positive difference.

Developing through reflective practice

This award celebrates learners who demonstrate a commitment to self-improvement by evaluating their strengths and limitations. They set realistic goals with clear criteria for success, actively monitor their performance, and seek feedback from others. These learners embrace change and continuously adapt to enhance their learning journey.

Outstanding Team player

This award recognizes learners who excel in working collaboratively with others. They confidently adapt to different contexts, take responsibility for their contributions, and actively listen to and consider diverse perspectives. These learners build strong, cooperative relationships and work effectively to resolve challenges and achieve shared goals.

Demonstrating outstanding initiative

This award honours learners who exhibit exceptional self-organization, taking personal responsibility while showcasing initiative, creativity, and enterprise. They demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and self-improvement, embracing change with a positive attitude, adapting to new priorities, overcoming challenges, and seeking opportunities for growth and success.

Thinking creatively

This award celebrates learners who demonstrate exceptional creativity by generating and exploring innovative ideas and making original connections. They approach challenges with an open mind, experimenting with different strategies, and collaborating with others to develop imaginative solutions that deliver meaningful and valuable outcomes.

Overcoming adversities

This award honours learners who have faced significant challenges and shown remarkable resilience in overcoming obstacles. Despite their adversities, they have maintained a positive attitude toward their studies, demonstrating exceptional strength, determination, and commitment to their learning journey.

They are dedicated to promoting social and cultural diversity, fostering an inclusive environment that ensures equal opportunities for everyone.

This individual has built strong, positive relationships with colleagues and learners, creating a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that enhances the overall learning environment.

Known for their innovative solutions, they creatively adapt strategies to help those they work with, always going above and beyond to support others effectively.
