Drawing and Painting Course

Drawing on Location

Over the 10 weeks of this course, you’ll be able to explore a wide range of different techniques and approaches. We’ll be taking the time to experiment with different materials including pencils, pastels, paint, ink and mixed media, while covering topics such as using colour, drawing from observation, creating interesting composition and developing ideas. You’ll be able to experiment with their potential and will be able to gradually build a project of your own for the final weeks. You’ll be sharing your productions and insights with other like-minded artists, from the highly experienced to the new discoverer, and benefit from supportive feedback. This course is designed to build your confidence and skills within a creative community that you can take away with you. The learning environment is informal and chatty as we share our thoughts and views on the on-going projects, subjects and methods as we progress.

You’ll need a kit of materials to include any specialist and high-quality items such as pens, cutters and surfaces, though the basics are supplied for you to get started, including student quality paper, paints, pencils and brushes.
