Ceramics – Throwing & Decoration Course

On this course you will learn how to use wheel and hand-building techniques to create interesting forms.

The course will be predominantly wheel based while you master your throwing skills, then as your skills develop you will learn how to manipulate and alter the thrown forms to include hand-built elements. You will also learn how to decorate your pieces using various decorative techniques and glazes.

This course is suitable for beginners to advanced makers. Beginners may wish to attend our dedicated Throwing for Beginners course first but it’s not compulsory.

Topics covered: throwing, centering, various decorative techniques, slips and glazes.

NB: This is a small course with only 8 places. We have 6 wheels which you will have plenty of access to as work centers around both the wheels and tables as learners work on different elements of their projects.

All materials are provided. Please bring a sketchbook or notebook for idea development and taking notes.
