Ceramics – Sculpting in Clay Course

This sculpting in clay course is designed for beginners and experienced artists alike.

You will learn the basics of hand-building and sculpting techniques using the various tools needed for shaping, adding texture, and glazing.

We will explore a range of themes through tutor lead projects and cover topics including fundamentals of design, form, and volume, and explore methods of combining clay shapes to create complex forms.

At the end of the course, each student will have completed a clay sculpture and will have the skills to continue creating independently.

The course will be both fun and educational providing learners the opportunity to explore their creativity in a supportive and stimulating environment. All levels including beginners.

Topics covered are: Hand- building, including slabbing, coiling, pinching. Armatures. various decorative techniques. slips and glazes.

All materials are provided. Please bring a sketchbook or notebook for idea development and taking notes.
