Paying for your course
If you’re enrolling on one of our Learning for Pleasure courses you can pay by credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard) when you enrol online or on the phone.
You can pay with a credit or debit card at New Directions College's main site in South Reading.
For courses lasting at least 10 weeks and costing over £80.00, payment by standing order is available. You will need to pay 50% of the fee when you enrol and arrange for a standing order with your bank.

Funding for your course
If you are enrolling on an accredited course you may be eligible for reduced or fully funded course fees if you are unemployed and claiming any of the following benefits:
- Jobseekers Allowance
- Employment Support Allowance
- Universal Credit
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit / Council Tax Support
- Pension Guarantee Credit
You may also be eligible if you are working but earning less than £16,009.50 a year.
If you think you are eligible please bring evidence that you are in receipt of one of the benefits above or your payslip which details your earnings when you come to your assessment session.
If you are low income you may also be able to access financial assistance from New Directions College to cover course related costs such as course materials, travel and childcare (from an Ofsted registered provider). Please contact us for more information.
Advanced Learner Loans
If you are aged 19 and over and studying at level 3 and above you may be able to apply for a government funded Advanced Learner Loan to support the costs of tuition fees. Your household income isn’t taken into account and there is no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £25,000 a year.
