Museum – Art in the Dark – Islamic Art meets British flowers Course

Artist Hadil Tamin will lead you through a day exploring some of the processes and techniques involved in the complex and exquisite patterns in Islamic designs. Using architectural and floral motifs found in and near the museum, she will help you to abstract them and think about how to organise them into intricate flowing designs. You will be introduced to the mirroring, repetition and geometry that lies at the heart of this way of painting as well as how to transfer
drawings for filling with colour. You do not have to be an artist to enjoy this, but you should feel like one by the end of the day!
