New Directions College Governance
New Directions College is Reading Borough Council’s Adult & Community Learning service. It is part of the Economic & Cultural Development team within the Economic Growth & Neighbourhood Services Directorate of Reading Borough Council.
Governance of our college is provided by the Community Learning & Skills Advisory Board (CLSAB). The remit of the CLSAB is to:
- Advise on the development of adult learning across Reading, agreeing the strategy for New Directions College and ensuring it supports Reading Borough Council’s strategic objectives
- Scrutiny of the performance against its agreed KPIs
- Advising on and monitoring financial performance and targets
- Reviewing and encouraging learner engagement and feedback to inform service delivery and the curriculum offer
The CSLAB is chaired by the lead councillor for Education for Reading Borough Council and membership comprises representatives from key council services, the voluntary and community sector and employers.
If you would like to get more involved in the work of New Directions College you can become a Community Advisor to the CLSAB and represent community interests in adult learning. You do not need any qualifications or particular experience, just an interest in adult education and how it can support the community.
