If you are 25+ and not in work then our fully funded Stronger Together programme could be for you.

New Directions can offer you tailored support to help with your journey into work.

We can help you:

  • Understand the job market and how to apply for jobs
  • Develop skills to become job ready
  • Improve confidence and motivation

Work Placements
If you would like to gain work experience and skills to help you in your career why not consider a work placement with Reading Borough Council?

Placements last 8 weeks and are available in a wide range of services across the council. They are an ideal stepping stone if you are out of work or would like to become an apprentice but want to gain some confidence and skills first.

New Directions College organises information and induction sessions for work placement opportunities throughout the year. If you would like to register your interest for the next induction session please contact us for further information.

If you are looking for work our Jobsearch room at New Directions South is available to you if you have completed a short induction.

  • Computers for two hours a day (word-processing, Internet, e-mail and printing)
  • Telephone, photocopying, stationery, envelopes and postage
